Van Ta Village is located in Ta Van commune, Sapa district, Lao Cai province, only about 12 km away from Sapa town. In the language of the Mong ethnic people, Van Ta means “big arch” and the village is situated with its back against the Hoang Lien Son mountain range and the front facing the winding Muong Hoa stream. The ancient May Bridge in Van Ta Village once caused a sensation on social media, even gaining fame across the country thanks to a photo taken by American photographer Skip Nall. This is a famous suspended bamboo bridge located in the territory of Ban Giang Ta Chai, crossing the Muong Hoa stream flowing from the valley down.
